The Trinity House welcomed its first occupants in 2005 as a “Good Samaritan” leap of faith. Since that time The Trinity House has helped numerous families and individuals avoid homelessness. Founded by Glen and Evelyn Jackson, The Jackson's and The Board of Directors philosophy is to give a "hand up" not a "hand out" demonstrating that believe through the work of The Trinity House.
As of June 1, 2007 The Trinity House has served 129 adults and 81 children, many of whom are very low-income and eligible to receive a rent subsidy from The Trinity House to assist them in avoiding homelessness. Of those 30% (nearly 40 families) were able to avert homelessness all together by coming to The Trinity House.
"I received the disks -- they are fabulous! I
am so impressed," Evelyn Irving-Jackson, Executive Director of The Trinity House recalled. "I can't wait to send out an E-blast to all of my supporters." The Trinity House is using the funds raised from The Mall Pass to support the patrons of The Trinity House. Evelyn also plans to promote Mall Pass memberships at the 2nd annual Gala that her group puts on. More information about the Gala can be found here: http://www.thetrinityhouse.org/events.htm
Oregon Booster Clubs learn about The Mall Pass
Monday, April 10 2006
As The Pass Group developed a new web based fund raising software for schools and non-profit organizations, they began to learn about the pivotal role of Booster Clubs in the support of academic and activities for students. On Saturday, April 10 2006 the Athletic Department and the Booster Club of Tigard High School hosted the First Annual Oregon Booster Clubs Workshop in Tigard, Oregon. The Pass Group was invited to show their new products, the Pass Portal and The Mall Pass Web Site. Seventeen Oregon Booster Clubs were in attendance
The keynote speaker of the Workshop, Ralph Greene of Nike underscored the need for active Booster Clubs in school programs. Mr. Greene also drew on his background in college sports, his career in the National Football League, and his active involvement in youth sports in Oregon.
“We are in the business of creating a community,” said Mr. Greene. “In our community, we stand for something, share a vision, and celebrate individual achievement with our children.” His focus on direction and purpose, adding value to the lives of students, and a shared understanding of success set the tone for the day.
The Booster Club participants visited with The Pass Group to learn more about this leading edge web based software called the Pass Portal and the Mall Pass Web Site. According to Mike Nelson of the Churchill High School Booster Club this “software is exactly the direction schools in Oregon want to go. It is time for us to use the tools of the Internet to simplify our fund raising and focus on the kids.”
Today was a success and a great beginning,” said Kevin Bryant, Athletic Director and host for the First Annual Oregon Booster Club Workshop. Plans are already underway for the next workshop. “We will build on what we learned today and create a community of values through Oregon’s Booster Clubs,” according to Kris Homma, President of the Tigard High School Booster Club.
